This Privacy Policy explains what information Prairielytics collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the application and this website.

This wording is a draft prepared for review. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before launch.

Information you give us

When you use the application you may provide:

• Account details, such as your name, email address and profile photo, and the sign-in method you choose.
• Farm records, such as fields, acres, crops, input costs, applications, harvests, sales, contracts, fixed costs and insurance payouts.
• Messages you send us for support or feedback.

Information collected automatically

When you sign in we receive basic account information from your chosen sign-in provider. We also record technical information such as browser and device type, the pages you visit in the application, and the approximate region derived from your IP address, so we can keep the service secure and working.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide the application, calculate your break-even prices, yields and profit figures, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, keep the service secure, and improve the product. We do not use your farm records for advertising.

Consent and your agreement

You acknowledge this policy when you create your account. You can withdraw your consent at any time by closing your account; this does not affect processing that already took place.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing details such as a customer identifier; we do not see or store your full card number.

Sharing

We share information with service providers who help us run the application, including hosting, payment processing and email delivery. They may only use it to provide those services.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users. We do not sell your information.

Retention

We keep your account and farm records while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for billing records, backups or legal obligations.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access is limited to what is needed to operate the service. Each account's records are kept separate from those of other farms. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you can:

• Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information in your account or records.
• Ask us to delete your account and its records.
• Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to understand how the application is used. You can block cookies in your browser, though signing in may then not work.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the application.
